BREAKING NEWS – NEW B-BBEE CODES TO BE GAZETTED 11 OCTOBER

The Minister of Trade & Industry, Rob Davies, last week’s BEE summit in Johannesburg, has announced that the DTI will be gazetting the Revised BEE Codes of Good Practice on Friday,11 October 2013.

There are a number of press reports stating what is in the final version and
speculating about what will be included in the final version of these Codes to
be gazetted, but we are aware that much of what is included in the Codes has not been released to the press and has not been shared with delegates at the summit.  At present only an overview has been given of these Codes.

From our experience it is serves little purpose to react to press reports and
overviews, as we have always found the devil to be in the detail! We will
update all our clients with the final version of the Codes once they are
released and we will be running seminars on the Codes, in conjunction with Dorrington Jessop Incorporated, once we have the finalised versions.  Clients are advised to remain calm and to seek out expert advice once the revised codes have been published.
